This vessel gave me a time. From wicking headaches, to wax differences, to labeling - not my favorite. I think the vessel is good looking and is a nice vessel but the shape and the wicking headache, this guy gave me AND burning test with different wicks is another story. I gave this vessel a 3 star b/c it is very nice, if you get the correct wick its lovely.... just keeping the wick in the correct place is difficult.
I will start off by saying that this vessel is pretty. It’s a nice centerpiece to accentuate any room.
With that being said, I would not recommend this series of vessels for candles. I purchased all of the Cosmic collection to try and one of my biggest issues is that they are hard to physically wick. I normally use a wick dot and in virtually every other vessel it works but in this series the bottom of the vessels are rounded up. It caves in the middle at the bottom so when you try to wick the vessel has to wick at the raised part. This caused the wick to detach from the bottom because the wicks were not on solid vessel. It’s like the middle of the wick was fine but the circumference of the wick bottom wasn’t touching anything which means that wax can seep under and detach the wick completely. This happened in my Glow in the Dark vessel. In the Sunset vessel the wick is too far to the right even though when I poured the candle it was perfectly centered and I used the centering tool from here leading me to believe that it also detached, I just can’t see it yet.
So, I’m trying to burn the candles as much as I can and then come up with a plan of action to get the rest of the wax out.
I do believe that these vessels would be cute for flowers, maybe pens, pencils, gel pens, etc. Perhaps wicking works better if you hot glue the wicks but that’s not the most practical option if you want to use the vessel again. I have the Sunrise vessel and I will probably use that for another purpose but I don’t feel comfortable using it for a candle.
I am in the middle of a rebranding for my company and when the original email from Sixteen Seventeen came in with the Cosmic Collection my mouth dropped open. The sunset vessel matched my new brand colors perfectly. They are simply stunning.
