Our No. 3 Coconut Wax Blend is truly the miracle container wax. A proprietary blend, created by Sixteen Seventeen, No. 3 wax has effortlessly smooth tops and is a one pour wax; no heat gunning and no pour overs are ever required. 

Why we Created No. 3 Coconut Wax Blend:

We love coconut wax at Sixteen Seventeen, but have not always been impressed with the hot throw of coconut wax blends on the market. We felt these blends always needed to be further modified with other waxes to achieve the properties we were looking for, namely, excellent hot throw and ease of wicking. 

What You Can Expect:

With our No. 3 wax you can expect smooth tops every time, a developed cold throw after a 7-10 day cure , an exceptional hot throw after a 7-10 day cure, beautiful reset, great adhesion, easy wicking, and a creamy white consistency. No. 3 wax can easily hold up to 12% fragrance load, and has a melt point of 124-127 degrees F. This wax is molded in 11 lb slab form.

What's in it?

No. 3 wax is predominately coconut wax, accompanied by soy wax, some RSPO palm wax, and a small amount of food grade paraffin. This wax can be considered natural, it is vegan, and is not tested on animals.

Please read the heating and pouring instructions below.

No.3 wax needs small wicks, (we recommend our CDN wick series). We recommend the same CDN wick sizes for both No. 3 wax and No. 7 wax.

We recommend heating slightly past 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and adding fragrance oil no lower than 200 degrees. These higher temps help the wax and the fragrance oil to bind. You will not burn off your fragrance oil, regardless of flashpoint, (this is a myth). You only need to stir your fragrance oil for about 20 seconds and pour immediately. Recommended pouring temp is around 185 F, although this wax can be poured hotter without issue.

Fragrance Load: No.3 wax can accommodate a fragrance load of 10% to 12% with most fragrance oils. Please conduct your own testing to ensure candle safety, as each fragrance oil may behave differently.

Melt Point: 124-127 degrees F.

Flash Point: 450 degrees F.

Wax is sold by pallet weight from the manufacturer. Some wax slabs and cases may vary in weight by +/- 5%.

OSHA HAZARD COMMUNICATION STANDARD: This material is not considered hazardous in accordance with OSHA HazCom 2012, 29 CFR 1910.1200.

This wax is amazing. I have purchased now on three separate occasions, and I love it. I will never use any other wax. And the staff are amazing!

Wonderful Wax

I just recently started using this wax and it was wonderful. It helps create an amazing hot throw from any vessel I use. I haven't had any problem with adhesion in the tins or jars that I use.

This wax, no. 3 has quickly kicked all of the other coconut waxes I’ve been testing to the curb. Beautiful CT/HT and very easy to wick with cotton and even wood wicks. This wax is a keeper!

I’m feeling a little mixed about this one!

First of all, Don’t get me wrong, this is a superior wax. The issues I have are mixed, hence my 3 star review. Firstly, here’s what I love about this wax after working with it for quite a while: SUPER SMOOTH beautiful pours and resets. Sublime actually. You could literally put a microscopic level on all my candles and it would be dead center. The HOT throw is excellent on most of my FO’s across the board. I’m so happy to be getting hot throws of this quality with not only 1617 FO’s but others as well. Here are what I feel are the weaker elements to this wax: GLASS ADHESION. Using 1617 vessels, heating the wax by the book, pouring at 185 or slightly higher, all my pours were full of wet spots. Now these were all tester units but I was shocked. I even tried another set of testers using slightly different parameters for heating and pouring. The same. Glass adhesion issues. I also noticed on some microscopic bubbles, almost like a pin prick surrounding some of my interior edges on top. Very small, but for a wax of this quality again, I was surprised. Now lastly, but not least the smell and color while heating. It does not bother me in the least but I could see where for some with sensitivities this might be an issue. The wax gets very dark and off puts an almost chemical odor. Now please understand this important fact: NEITHER OF THESE ISSUES ARE EVIDENT when the candle hardens and cures. Lovely off white color and no residual odor. I’m only commenting on this being bothersome for some allergy or asthma ridden Chandlers.
